The bobblehead recap of my paper:
- Prosthetics were originally about repairing a handicap
- They were about performance and practicality
- Mullins represents a transition from prosthetics as performance enhancement to aesthetic enhancement
- The stigma of the handicap is sort of transformed into the celebration of the bizzarre, not unlike how we see our models, movie stars, etc.
- THE PROSTHETICS ARE REALLY COOL! (CHEETAH LEGS, JELLYFISH, ETC)
I really enjoyed writing this paper though my focus was probably a little different than most
